DIY Wall Decals
![]() |
We love wall decals. I wanted to cover the walls with happy faces for The Chief’s HAPPY Party but really nice decals are expensive. So we made our own!
I knew we could do it after seeing the really cool designs on DIY Vinyl Wall Art. Con-Tact paper is so stinkin’ magical! You can write/paint on it and cut out any design. Stick it on the wall and reposition/remove it whenever you want. You can get it in many different colors and textures. I got this on eBay in yellow so we could make our own happy face decorations for The Chief’s Birthday *HAPPY* Party seen–> HERE.
Such a simple and fun activity! We just unrolled it, cut out big squares, and drew lots of happy faces with a black Sharpie. I knew he’d love this because faces and stick people are his favorite things to draw.
Daddy got jealous after seeing how much fun we were having, so he grabbed a Sharpie and jumped in.
I’m so glad we did this! Having The Chief’s own artwork as decorations for his party was WAY more charming than any store-bought decals, posters, or cutouts. It was so funny watching him come up with different variations of the happy face. Can you spot some of the hilarious ones… Happy Pirate Happy Girl Happy Stick Man Happy Twins Happy Dr. Spock Happy Beard Happy Hairy Happy Tears of Joy Happy Jack… as in Jack-o-Lantern Happy Puppy
We stuck them everywhere! On the walls, kitchen counter, bathroom mirror… even on the toilet lid
On the floor too!

We had just as much fun peeling them off. He beat me in a challenge to see who could peel off the most
