Babbabox Review and Giveaway

Yay, we got a Babbabox! It’s a theme-based box of kiddie activities delivered monthly and filled with materials to help a parent create, explore, storytell, and connect with their kids. I love this concept because creativity doesn’t come naturally to me… so the idea of a box of fun dropped on my doorstep every month to help me out sounds FABULOUS!!

Each box has a different theme every month. This month’s theme was Sun, Moon, and Stars. We spread out all the goodies so The Chief could choose which activity to do first. I love how the instruction booklets have pictures so he can follow directions all by himself even though he can’t read yet. He feels like a big boy when he gets to tell me how to do the project.

Cool… our first time playing with paper maché. We’re making a “moon” nightlight. The Chief has a very short attention span but this held his attention very well because we did it together with him instructing me on what to do… plus it was awesomely messy!

The box also had these nice coloring sheets that we used to talk about the moon, sun, and star constellations.

This activity was his (and Daddy’s) favorite. They got to stick stars onto sunprint paper to make their constellations. After the stars, The Chief insisted they connect the stars with a crayon and add some funny stickers on the paper too.

We set the sunprint paper in the sun for a minute to watch it lighten. We then immersed it in water and pulled off the stickers to reveal the constellations they created.

In the box, there’s a pair of binoculars and a lunar calendar for kiddo to use to draw and discuss the phases of the moon. My little explorer loved this!
